Bridging the Gap

Why Bridging the Gap

There are two primary reasons why our Bridging the Gap program is so crucial to our communities. The first is the high cost of failure; the second is a shortage of skilled workers.

The high cost of failure is associated with the challenges many students from disadvantaged backgrounds face, including a lack of support, adult mentors, life skills and training, and clear career paths.

Failure to reach one’s full potential not only negatively impacts individual lives, but it also costs communities millions of dollars in social programs, crime, lost productivity and lost tax revenues.

In addition, the shortage of skilled workers is a result of low high school graduation rates and decreased college enrollments which impacts every community.

Bridging the Gap is dedicated to helping students graduate from high school, secure jobs and pursue higher education to become their best selves and have a positive impact on our communities.
