Bridging the Gap
About Bridging the Gap
Developed as a collaboration between Cincinnati Arts and Technology Studios and our community partners, Bridging the Gap is a workforce development program. It is designed to provide employment opportunities to our students within a defined career pathway and provide local partner employers with a dependable pool of applicants that have the proper credentials, level of professionalism and support to fill vacancies and advance within the organization.
Following completion of a 10-week life skills training course with Cincinnati Works, students enter specific training courses designed to prepare them for future employment. Students are also given a lifetime membership to Cincinnati Works, a local program that assists with job placement, transportation, interview coaching and childcare vouchers.
CATS staff stay engaged with students for at least 18 months following graduation, as part of the Bridging the Gap program to help them successfully transition into the workforce.
Bridging the Gap Success
Since 2006, 86 Bridging the Gap students have become sustainably employed and 89 percent remained in their positions for at least one year following employment.
