College and Career Fair 2020

Published: January 24, 2020

The annual college and career fair was held the week of January 6th. Over 110 students attended the college and career fair, the large turnout and student enthusiasm were noted by the presenters who were returning for a second year. The students engaged by asking questions of the college representatives and completing a “College Comparison Chart”. The chart helps students compare up to 5 colleges in an effort to make a decision that is right for them.

This year a variety of new pathways were presented to the students, in addition to the existing pathways. Thirteen partner employers presented over the four days representing: Culinary, Information Technology, Construction, Manufacturing, Logistics, Banking, Customer Service/Call Center and Healthcare. All employers addressed job training, scheduling, pay, benefits and tuition reimbursement. Students interacted one-on-one with employers and participated in a hands-on manufacturing demonstration.

CATS is excited to have this outstanding group of employers participate in BTG this year. Many have offered to conduct mock interviews, be a guest speaker in the Life Skills Workshop and allow job shadows/tours to give the students a better picture of what each position requires. CATS thanks all of the employers and colleges that participated this year and looks optimistically towards the future of our students with their support.
